James has a habit of getting a feel for a place before he ever takes out his camera. With the Panoramics, that means stepping back far enough to take in the whole scene, whether it’s the bluffs at Shadmoor, the harbor at night or the radar tower standing over Camp Hero.

The collection runs from wide-open seascapes to the landmarks every local knows, like the Clam Bar, Salivar’s, Navy Beach and the lighthouse. Each one shows Montauk the way it feels to stand there and look around.
