Sea

A study of Montauk’s relationship with the ocean, from the surfers who ride it to the open water that surrounds them. Drawing on a lifetime spent in and around the water, the series brings together surf and seascape: breaking waves, glassy lineups, winter swells, and the quiet horizons where the sea is left to speak for itself.

Some images place the surfer at the center, small against the scale of the ocean. Others let the water, light, and weather carry the frame on their own. Together they capture the power, stillness, and endless variation of the sea as only someone born and raised on its shores could see it.
